Many piano instructors only teach students how to read songs from a lesson book. This approach is okay but it is very limiting. There is little creativity involved and the students don’t understand the language of the music. They simply know how to play the notes they read. Band Gig School of Music & Performance teaches students to create their own music right away. Students learn music theory to help them understand how music is put together.
We know; keyboard isn’t piano…
Physically there are differences. Some keyboards have the same width as a regular piano and some do not. Plus, most keyboards do not have as many keys. The biggest different is touch. No matter what kind of keyboard you get, the touch will never be the same because there are no hammers that will hit the strings in the back. However, keyboards with weighted keys are available to simulate the piano feel in a more compact instrument.

So out teachers are judged every time Band Gig rolls into a town.
