Teaching and performing in the Greater Boston area since 1995, Martin strives to bring the best out of his students. Starting with kids as young as four and up to adults of any age he develops a program suited to each person’s pacing and needs. Whether it’s playing along to their favorite songs on their ipod, working on music for the school band or creating rhythms for their original group, the focus is on playing steady and solid and bringing the character out of the music and to the audience. Having fun, being challenged, and staying relaxed are key to successful learning. Developing the skills to hear the inner workings of making music, how it’s put together and the physical technique involved regardless of the style are all covered. A positive, patient and upbeat attitude helps to bring it all together.
Martin graduated Berklee College of Music in 1994, Magna Cum Laude, was awarded Teacher of The Year 2000 by the National Music Workshop, and has toured in Europe, Asia and the US. He plays a wide variety of styles including rock, jazz, pop, urban, Latin, Caribbean and African rhythms and is currently working with PanNeubean Steel, a New England based steel pan/drum led group.

Born and raised in Boston, Patrick started music very early in life, beginning with piano at age 5. At age 10, he decided to pick up the guitar and, unexpectedly, a career choice. At age 14, he enrolled at Boston Arts Academy (still in its infancy). After 4 months, he performed for the first time at the Berklee Performance Center as part of BAA's biannual performance festival. While at BAA, Pat also enrolled in the Berklee City Music Program, starting with a scholarship to attend Berklee's 5-Week Summer Performance Program.
Through the 3 summers he spent at 5-Week and City Music, Patrick applied, auditioned, and was awarded a full scholarship to Berklee, which he used to major in Guitar Performance and Music Business and Management. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in May, 2009. Remembering the nervousness of a 14 year old playing for the first time in front of hundreds of people, among other memories, Patrick uses his experiences growing up to help his students through any rough spots or difficulties playing. Other notable achievements include:
Playing the grand opening of Shreve, Crump and Lowe in Boston along with Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith
Playing a commencement ceremony for world renowned percussionist Sheila E
Playing the 2008 Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation Gala
Having his original piano piece "A Day In The Life of Tom Cruise" played by professor Marti Epstein as part of the 2006 "Best of Traditional Harmony" Concert at Berklee.
“Band Gig has been one of the most important artistic learning experiences I have had in a long time. I had great fun while expanding my horizons in style, technique and repertoire. The instructors are great teachers who know what they are doing inside and out. I'd recommend this to anyone wants to take their musicianship beyond lessons, recitals and open mike. Band Gig is the real deal." -“Skip” from Newton
