The Band Gig program teaches you how to be a part of a band. Geared toward teens and adults (ages 12 and up) who already have one thing in common: they love music and want to play in a band.
Each group (made up of 4-6 students based on age, music style preference and ability) chooses a name for the band and what songs they are going to play. Original music is always enthusiastically encouraged.

Many teens are bedroom musicians who play holed up by themselves. And many adults are closet rock ‘n roll stars playing in their basements alone.
With the expertise of our instructors you will be placed in a band situation with fellow musicians with similar interests and different strengths in a positive and nurturing environment. Bringing people together through music, Band Gig places people who want to be in a band, but either don’t know how, don’t have the confidence to do so, have no one with whom to start a band, or don’t have a place to rehearse.

Where Bands are Born
“Band Gig has been one of the most important artistic learning experiences I have had in a long time. I had great fun while expanding my horizons in style, technique and repertoire. The instructors are great teachers who know what they are doing inside and out. I'd recommend this to anyone wants to take their musicianship beyond lessons, recitals and open mike. Band Gig is the real deal." -“Skip” from Newton
“The Band Gig program opened new heights to me. I was quite nervous when I signed up being an intermediate at most on guitar. However playing in band type setting with direction is such a fast way to learn. It was a great program, Nick and Bernard were outstanding. They kept it fun while making the difficult logic of some songs very simple. Jamming with others and performing was a rush. I cannot wait to do it again, and improve exponentially again.” -Jim Boston, MA

“Wow...Bang Gig, what a great program. My son Max participated this past spring. He had a blast. Nick Vecchio did a great job putting this together. What a terrific idea. Max had never played in a band...during these 14 weeks they evolved into a very tight group. Nick scheduled 2 gigs that were a wonderful experience for the band, they also recorded a great demo in their facility. I highly recommend this program to anyone (whether a teenager or an adult) who wants to experience what it’s like to be in a band. I know this...since I teach Ensembles at Berklee College of Music. Bravo to everyone at Band Gig!!!!" -Lello West Roxbury, MA
